Our approach

The Mibelle Group belongs to the most sustainable retailer in the world. Even during his lifetime, Gottlieb Duttweiler, Migros’ founder and a bona fide pioneer, called on people to use resources sparingly so the next generation would have a world worth living in. That’s why we’re committed to optimising all environmental protection measures as part of a continuous improvement process in order to reduce our impact on the environment.

Responsible production, research and management has characterised the Mibelle Group from the outset. We have thus ascribed to a comprehensive vision of sustainability and a corresponding commitment.

We not only help our customers to obtain full services optimally tailored to their requirements – sustainability is part of the conviction at our company and offers our customers an expedient added value.

02

Our targets

In line with the Paris Climate Agreement, we are committed to limiting global warming to 1.5°C. That is why we joined the internationally recognized Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2019 and have set ourselves science-based climate targets based on our greenhouse gas balances. These were officially validated by SBTi in 2022. Our goal: By 2050 at the latest, the Migros Group aims to emit no more greenhouse gases with its net zero strategy. Further pioneering ambitions will guide us in stages until 2040.

From 2040, we will only process sustainable raw materials.

From 2040, we will only work with renewable energies.

From 2040, we will only work with closed ecological cycles.

Net zero: By 2050 at the latest, we will no longer emit any greenhouse gases.

The detergents and cleaning products of the "Migros Plus Oeco Power" brand are gradually being replaced by the new Nature Clean brand. The new detergents and cleaning products come in a modern packaging design, are even more sustainable and clean just as effectively as their predecessors.

The Mibelle Group plays a pioneering role in the industry with its sustainable laundry detergents and cleaning products and sets ecological milestones with sustainable packaging and formulation solutions. The popular "Migros Plus Oeco Power" line of cleaning products is now being replaced by the new Nature Clean brand. The new look is more modern and highlights the company's expertise in the area of sustainability.

New packaging materials and high degradability

The new high-performance products from Nature Clean are vegan and have a very high biodegradability of at least 96%, in some cases even 100%. In addition to a modern and clear design, the packaging has been designed with sustainability in mind: even more recycled plastic is used: e.g. spray heads made from 67% recycled plastic - an absolute top value worldwide.

"The Nature Clean range comprises more than 40 products at launch, 39 of which are developed and produced by the Mibelle Group at the Frenkendorf site. Production in Switzerland guarantees short and environmentally friendly transportation routes," says Jon Forrer, Product Manager at the Mibelle Group in Frenkendorf.

The new Nature Clean products are being introduced gradually at Migros.
