Fermentation as an active ingredient enhancer
The process for fermented ingredients in skin care is essentially the same as for food. That is, microorganisms (bacteria) are added that release enzymes that break down the ingredients. As with prebiotics, the goal is to increase the "good" bacteria at the expense of the "bad" ones in order to enhance the effect of each agent and increase its benefit to the skin. Fermentation not only acts as an active ingredient enhancer, but also provides a higher concentration of nutrients and antioxidants and optimizes the penetration of active ingredients into the skin.
From niche to beauty trend
What was once a niche trend has now become a larger movement. Many brands from all sectors have developed products with fermented ingredients in recent years. The number of launches with fermented ingredients has grown considerably in the last five years. The most popular ingredients are fermented green/black tea, probiotics or fermented mushrooms.
Mibelle Biochemistry: with Black BeeOme™ and VinUp-Lift in the middle of this trend
At the Mibelle Biochemistry, we have also researched the benefits of fermented ingredients and developed our unique Black BeeOme™ ingredient. The active ingredient is an elixir obtained by fermenting the honey of a rare and ancient species of bees. Black BeeOme™ is designed to restore individual skin microflora after stress, resulting in healthy, exceptionally clear and pure skin. VinUp-Lift is another product that undergoes a fermentation process during the production of the ice wine, when sugar is broken down and new metabolic products are created.
