In this edition, we spoke with Cristina Fäh and Erica Todd about their career journeys, the challenges they’ve overcome, and their advice for the next generation of women. But this is just the beginning—over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more inspiring stories from the remarkable women shaping the future at the Mibelle Group.

Cristina Fäh: Lean and Process Optimization Expert

How did you get into your current role, and what does your day-to-day work involve?

I met my current boss during my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training and then applied for a job on his team. My weeks are varied, but a big part of my job is running workshops with different teams, which always require a lot of preparation and follow-up.

What key experiences have shaped your career journey?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Food Technology and a master’s degree in Food and Beverage Innovation, specializing in process technology and innovation. I always thought I would work in this field, but during an internship I stumbled upon the fascinating world of Lean, and I was completely hooked. It’s funny how life often leads you down paths you never even knew existed.

What do you think are key obstacles women encounter in the workplace? How can they be overcome?

Throughout my career, I myself have been confronted with gender bias and moments where my credibility was questioned simply because I am a woman. Unfortunately, these challenges are common—many women experience barriers to career growth, particularly in leadership roles, where men still dominate. The gender pay gap persists, and societal expectations around caregiving continue to add pressure.

The best way to navigate and drive change is through open conversations, fostering awareness, and advocating for workplace equality. For women looking to advance their careers, the key is to find what excites you and fight for it. If you ever feel unfairly treated, stand up for yourself—and when that becomes difficult, seek allies. Colleagues, mentors, and friends can offer support, guidance, and encouragement. Sharing experiences and lifting each other up is essential to creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace.

Erica Todd: Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist

How did you get into your current role, and what does your day-to-day work involve?

I started at Marq Labs as a Product Compliance Specialist before stepping into my current role as Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist. Entering this role was exciting, as cosmetic regulations are far more complex and robust than I initially realized.

My role often includes serving as a companywide compliance resource to ensure adherence to complex cosmetic regulations, managing product registrations and audit, supporting sales with customer requests and market entry, and assisting brand and design with label development

What key experiences have shaped your career journey?

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Studies and began my career in toxicology as a Forensic Special Chemist. Over ten years, I found myself increasingly drawn to quality control and compliance. Eventually, I transitioned into regulatory affairs, where I could combine my love for science, safety, and compliance.

What are the challenges women face in the workplace, and why is empowerment important?

As a young Black woman, I’ve faced challenges in being taken seriously, having my voice heard, and securing opportunities. At times, I’ve doubted myself, but I’ve learned to overcome these barriers by demonstrating expertise, delivering exceptional work, and building a strong network.

Empowering women fosters diverse perspectives, innovation, and stronger decision-making, creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace. My advice? Be bold—seek mentors, embrace challenges, and never stop learning. Sometimes, you have to create your own opportunities, and as you grow, lift others up with you.

Cristina and Erica’s journeys showcase the resilience, passion, and determination of women in the workplace. While significant progress has been made, challenges persist. This International Women’s Day, let’s continue to advocate for equality, mentorship, and opportunity, ensuring that the next generation can go even further.

And this is just the beginning—stay with us in the coming weeks as we share more inspiring stories from the incredible women shaping the future at the Mibelle Group!
